Making it out of high school

Those big gray doors soon turn to normal size.
Day in day out you won't even notice how your hands have grown to fit the knobs.

The hallways remain the runway for fashion shows
or a field for a quick football throw.

Birds with the same nature will flock together but of course there's the few that seem to carry feathers from every crew.
You will learn the difference between real and fake.
Be introduced to a first lover's heartbreak.

But all the part you hoped to remain true remind you why it was only presented on a screen.
Truth is it's a rare realized dream.
Your first love was most likely never love.
The big group of friends were just stand in for snakes.
That terrible feeling with the cute face has the right to be labeled a crush.
The crushed smarties will soon turn into real drugs.
Race issues will run well pass the finish line.
Learning physics is not even close to understanding your own physique.

But you made it through all four years in one piece.
Not at all your original patches but armored and improved.
