Our Silent Heroes

Our silent heroes wear cheeks stained with tears
And scars from the years
Of being the shield
protecting and serving
their most precious treasures
The sons and daughters
Who dream of becoming soldiers
Fighting for the country that gave her soil
To raise her beautiful boy
To grow her little girl into an honorable woman
walking the trails of true heroines

You might see her march alone
But she is the leader
Of infinite lines of soldiers
She may look like no other
An average mother
But deep down is a war
raging within her
Each side unshakable feelings
Of pride and worry
Sorrow and joy
What use to be a liveful home
Now as quiet as absence can be
But through it all she remains
Army Strong

It takes courage to know
In order to keep the flag flying high
Some must go behind the enemy lines
In order for our country to grow
They too must put on army boots

No wars could have been fought
without our military moms
The silent heroes who have carved
the hearts of our future heroes
Carrying both a Mother’s love
and love for her country faithfully
